Obviously this is Honda’s fault.

what the heck just happened? I mean i get they swapped lefts and rights (different offsets?), but why the leaf blowers? and why did they give up and dolly it back to the garage? inquiring minds need to know...

They also tried to put on one of the wheels backwards.

I’m guessing but they were probably bringing it in to the garage and they did a practice pit stop before wheeling it in. They then proceeded to fuck it all up.

They always have leaf blowers. Everything on those cars relies on air flow to keep cool.
They always dolly it into the garage.
They don’t always put the wrong wheels on the wrong side. They also don’t always try to put a wheel on backwards.
This might be the new McLaren.

Then there’s this, which looks like a later stop.
Not sure if it fell of the main jack , or what.

The left side wheels use left hand threaded nuts so that they don’t loosen under breaking. This means you can’t use a right side rim on the left. They realized that goof and then attempted to put the right rear wheel on backwards. The leaf blowers are because many parts of an F1 car will overheat themselves from heat soak without airflow. With the dollies already being there I imagine they intended to put the car into the garage anyway after completing the practice stop.

Boullier did say a few days ago that they gave up pitstop practice last year in favor of keeping the car running...

It shows. But that seems a bit counterintuitive.
